El 1 de Marzo de 1967 salió al aire el primer noticiero producido en Guayaquil por sus propios redactores, reporteros, camarógrafos y conductores, recurriendo a las fuentes y procesando noticias con imágenes. Hasta esa fecha en los noticieros de televisión del país solo se había leído periódicos. Fue el nacimiento oficial de Ecuavisa.
